According to an official statement from the Riau Provincial Government, reported by on Sunday (April 12, 2026), Riau Regional Secretary Syahrial Abdi stated that the province holds significant potential to pioneer the implementation of oil palm–cattle integration systems, both nationally and globally.
He noted that Riau is ready to serve as a “living laboratory” for SISKA implementation, while also opening opportunities for research collaboration and investment. The province is also being positioned as a center for downstream oil palm development integrated with the livestock sector.
The proposed integration scheme aims to optimize plantation land use by combining agricultural and livestock activities. This approach is expected to generate higher economic value for both the region and local communities.
Syahrial further emphasized the importance of cross-sector synergy at national and global levels to support the successful implementation of SISKA, including strengthening research, technology utilization, and investment support.
The Riau Provincial Government also sees strong potential to position the region as an integrated agroindustrial hub based on oil palm, as well as an investment hub in food and biomass-based energy sectors.
To accelerate implementation, the regional government is opening broad investment opportunities for both domestic and international investors. These include downstream palm oil industries, cattle integration projects, and various derivative sectors aimed at enhancing the value of palm oil commodities.
With strong investment and collaboration, Riau is optimistic about strengthening its position as a new economic growth center based on plantation–livestock integration in Indonesia.
